TrackLoc is a service that keeps you informed were your children are, or other persons you care.
TrackLoc allows to define an area and to receive a SMS alert whenever this area is left or re-entered. Alternatively, you can define a number of locations and to receive a SMS notification whenever any of these locations is entered or left. Additionally and independent from the defined area or locations, TrackLoc enables you to view tracked locations of this person.
Sample use case 1:
You are not at home, when your kid needs to go to school in the morning and comes back from school in the afternoon. You wonder if everything is going well while you are at work. With this application you can easily define 2 areas to be supervised, your home and your kid's school. You will receive a SMS when your kid leaves home, arrives at school, leaves school, and arrives back home. If a SMS is not arriving as expected, you can go online and check your kid's latest tracked locations. In case these look strange, you can call your kid to make sure that everything is all right.
Sample use case 2:
You do not want to receive notifications as long as your kid does move between the usual locations. But you want to be alerted when it should leave the overall area of typical movements.
TrackLoc is using GPS and network based localization to provide a service as reliable as possible.
The application is just used to turn your mobile into a tracking device. The main user interface to configure the service and to check the tracked locations is securely provided as web service at https://trackloc.appspot.com. However, a light version of the user interface is provided by the application itself, e.g. to create a new user with default configuration and to view tracked locations stored on the server.
We are committed to protect your privacy. For using our service you will be requested only to enter data which is needed for the configured functionality. You do not need to enter any real name, address, email ... In case you want to receive SMS alerts, you need to enter a phone number to which the SMS is delivered. No identification of the phone to be tracked needs to be provided or is stored by the application.
Encryption is used for all data transmission with the exception of loading maps from Google Maps.
Your configuration data and tracked locations are stored on Google App Engine according to Google's privacy policy. Your password and all tracked locations are stored encrypted to avoid any break of your privacy.
