Geo-Filtered Assistant is an application for filtering your Android contacts, call-log and SMS message threads to facilitate find the desired entry. It uses your current geo-location and the postal addresses of your contact entries to do the filtering. You can synchronize with your online profiles (Facebook, LinkedIn, Hyves) to retrieve basic address information (e.g. city) about your Android contacts. The synchronization functionality intelligently matches the names in Android contacts with the names of contacts in your online profiles. Then the address information of contacts retrieved from the online profiles is automatically merged into the Android contacts.

Filtering the contacts, call-log and SMS message threads is the main functionality provided by Geo-Filtered Assistant. Filtering produces three categories:

1.Contacts in the current city,
2.Contacts within a specified radius, and
3.Contacts without postal addresses.

Address information of your Android contacts automatically comes from your list of contacts on social networking sites like Facebook, LinkedIn and Hyves. The idea is that most of your Android contacts would also be in the contacts list of your online profiles. Basic address information like the city, state and/or country is retrieved from the profiles of your online contacts.
