Great ! How to fix "IP address obtaining" I want to share my experience how I fixed this issue with Note 2. Let me start from the begining. I bought Note 2 with stock 4.1.1 ROM. There are two wifi points at my home (D-Link 615 and Time Capsule) it was connected great to them, and every time it was different dynamic IP. Few days later I did upgrade to 4.1.2, note 2 was connected to wifi good as well. Also wifi worked in aiports. When I came for a job to my remote camp for one month, I did connection to wifi (it is only one wifi point here) so note 2 was connected. Day later I came to my room and I can`t connect to wifi (it stuck "IP address obtaining") but my macbook air, friend`s laptop and iphone were avaibility to connect. i guessed that the problem is with MAC address, (wifi point remembered my MAC address and IP (DHCP) for my Note 2), because other devices had the same dinamic IP after disconnection and connection to/from wifi point. Sometimes, when I switching off and on wifi on my note 2, I got the connection with the same IP address. I install Wifi static. You can collect many of wifi points in this application, it will connect automaticaly to different wifi routers without IP address conflict!

Kept getting error message Device: Toshiba Thrive, 10,1 screen Version: ICS I installed this on my Thrive, but I later kept getting the constant error message (listed below) for the past several weeks. The message would appear roughly every 5 minutes or so: ERROR!! java.lang.RuntimeException: android.provider. Setting$settingNotFoundException: wifi_use_static_ip It took me a while to track which app caused it. The error message would appear and disappear from the screen. I finally thought to use a screen capture app to capture the error message. Then I could start searching for an answer. I then remembered that I had installed this app. When I uninstalled the app, the error message ceased to appear anymore. It actually might be a great app, but for myself, constant error messages isn't worth having it on my device.

FARPROC - Excellent Apps! These apps, by FARPROC, not only work, but they are exceptional! I have tried many of the alternative wifi, network apps, none which really seem to work, however, each one of FARPROC's apps work, and the work GREAT. I am using all of them, and find that this program, WIFI Static, has dramatically increased my signal strength. I highly recommend all of these apps.

Great for pre-ICS systems! Before I had ICS, this app worked great for me. It did exactly as advertised and helped my phone to connect to wireless networks regardless of configuration. What sucks for these folks is that this functionality is now built in to ICS under the advanced menu when adding/modifying a network (same screen as WEP/WPA key entry). I've uninstalled this app to eliminate redundancy. Anyone who doesn't have ICS on their device yet should really have this app. It's so awesome, Google had to copy it. ;)

Just what I needed Automatically switches to a static IP for the SSID's I specify and then reverts to DHCP for those that I do not set. Exactly what I needed in terms of services and fantastic execution.

Gives battery % in Notification bar! Great app, very sleek and clean. Gives you battery % & estimated battery life time left in the widget. Only recommendation to improve this app is add a "%" sign after the battery % number in the notification bar & Also have the widget change, or animate to notify if you're charging your battery or not.

BELKIN ROUTER PROBLEM RESOLVED Its a problem with all the bekin modem routers. Everything works well on my laptop and blackberry playbook but disconnects after 2-5 minutes on my android. This app just worked like charm amd solved my problem for which i have been struggling since 15days.

Works like a charm. I was looking for a way to make my phone have a static IP when at home so that I can have it bookmarked in the browser for using AirDroid. This app set up a profile for my wireless network and allowed me to set the IP I wanted to be connected with while on it. You really can't ask for anything more from an app when it does precisely what you need.
