Outstanding app! I'm a skilled GIS user and found this program to be the best that I've found on the Android platform. I use it in the field for forestry work. What makes this better than the ESRI app is the ability to save imagery on the tablet so I have it with me when I'm away from wifi. thanks!

At first liked it now iam having problems. Great app, however, i can not manage (upload, export, load, rename) tracks. Tried everyting including uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Trip comupter may include a couple of more data fields.

Inconsistent & Complex Use it only to create tracks. Operation is inconsistent, Tracks drop out randomly for no reason, sometimes restart and sometimes do not. Don't trust.

Best offline mapping/tracking currently available We have GPS in car and a handheld unit for geotagging photos. I tried numerous map, tracking programs, many of which were paid versions, and none offer the feature set of Orux. We have learned if you have some clue where you're going next, its better to build maps on the PC before leaving, but that was true of every app tested. Orux provides superior information, is extremely accurate and actually quite simple to use once you read and understand the manual [which is improving nearly as fast as the app.]

Battery hog Zaps battery even when phone is off. Might try it again (w/external power) for driving, but unplugged it's no go unless you force quit between uses.

No GPS Nexus S All I can get is a tiny world map with google maps. No GPS on Nexus S. Tells me I need to download a GPS and starts to download something - never finishes the download. Agree with others - drains battery fast - so fast it is hard to charge up. Try MapDroid for world GPS enabled road maps.

WOW This is so coooool, you can download maps from google earth, google maps, google terrain and even more. I like hiking and i can prepare the maps of the place that i am going, set some reference points along the path i am going to go(all of this for free). Awesome. The user interface is a bit complicated, but within 2 or 3 hours u can learn to use it. Great app, thanks to the developers.

Useless in USA. GPS doesn't work at all for online maps. For offline maps it turns on but you cannot zoom in much - not even to the State.

close to perfect Worked flawlessly on my Nexus S, successfully navigated over 500km of dirt roads, all well out of cell coverage, using a combination of waypoints created in google earth and uploaded by kml file, plus cached google maps. And in 8 straight hours of tracklogging, it used less than half the battery (all other apps off -- "airplane mode"). Sure I could nitpick the UI, but that's really mostly personal preference. It worked flawlessly on the important stuff, and all for free. Thanks!!!
