Lots of issues I don't know what happened, but this latest version has a lot of problems. I sent this list to tech support, however I'm posting it here also so that other users can compare their experiences. I really love this application and I sincerely what to help the developers sort out these bugs. 1. Incorrect dates on bible lookup history 3. Very rough scrolling, jumpy and unresponsive 4. Getting much better The pop menus are nice and it is significant faster than before. Vertical scrolling still needs so e work, but page scrolling works much better. The "More Books" icon needs better alignment needs to be shifted up a tad bit. Outside of that keep up the good work I'm glad your are taking advantage of some of the Android design cues as it makes the app blend better with the OS. A great feature would be to incorporate different reading plans which can send notifications using Androids extended notifications

Asus Transformer TF101, HTC DHD If you tried the program when it was so slow as to not useful, it is time to try again. It scrolls. It is much faster and now very usable! I went from a 1 star to 4. After a little more testing it may get the last star. Thanks Olive Tree.

SG Tab 2 7. Improving Scrolling issues seem to be eliminated. Highlighting verses can be touch and go. Sometimes highlights appear right away, sometimes not and sometimes not all indicated verses. I've also seen parts of verses simply disappear until the page is scrolled one way then another causing a refresh. Other weird things, too, but not consistently.

Good program, look forward to using it. After playing around a bit, I have one minor request. Flipping the page on my tablet takes too drastic a motion for result. I have to take my hand off the side to turn the page, wish I could just slide my thumb or - like a Kindle book - just double-tap the side of a page to advance. Really polished app otherwise, glad I found it!

Finally Olive Tree was the only Bible I used on my Palm Treo back in the day. When I tried it on my Samsung Galaxy Note running Android, the experience was so poor I uninstalled it. So how do I give it 4 stars now? I installed a number of other Bible apps and none of them did everything I wanted in a comfortable functionality. I had to try Olive Tree again in hopes that a newer version might have fixed the glitchiness and bugginess. And it looks like they have. It is, once again, my preferred Bible app.

The best content, but SOOO buggy This app has breathed life into my study habits.. It's kinda expensive for the resources but they are fantastic. The resources guide i the best part it syncs all of the resources together. The new updates to 5.2 and 5.3 is pretty good! The reader still opens slow, but the scrolling is better, it still jumps if you are scrolling slowly. There are many fewer bugs, still force closes occasionally, buy much better. It also stays open in the background for a longer period if switching between apps. The only real terrible thing right now is that in the resource guide if you click on a verse within a resource guide it moves you back to choosing where in the resource you want to go. Its SUPER annoying and makes it pretty useless for studying the Bible itself in the resource guide. Would like a option to change colors of Strongs Word of Jesus, option to switch a resource outside of the resource guide, option to open Bible links in the top screen, or switch the top and bottom screens. Some sort of page number option would also be nice. Its nice that you can use it to read daily, or study a word, and it works well either way. I like the new daily reading plan.

Much faster! I'm an iOS developer at OliveTree, but I use an android phone. I haven't been using the Bible Study app on it for quite a while though since my phone is older and the performance was just terrible. This update has made it so I can finally use the app on this phone again. The Android team did an awesome job with this release. To those of you having startup or crashing issues, PLEASE contact our support department. They can most certainly help fix whatever is causing the problem.

Unparalleled True, the android version is not currently as polished as the iOS version. It has, however, made marked improvement over the last few updates. Despite having some catching up to do with its own iOS counterpart it is still the clear leader in Bible apps if you actually read and study your Bible. I do not regret the money I've spent with Olive Tree.

Great work, just keep up the improvements Great job its so much better than it used to be, and is actually a good app now! The reason for the 3 stars is that I can't give 3.5 stars & it still needs some polishing/added features to reach the level of the iOS app. Polish the interface (ex: when searching, there shouldn't be a search bar at the top if there's already a popup for search), add features (gestures, REAL hi lighting, etc), and remove bugs... Then I'll gladly give this 5 stars. Otherwise its a great app and is actually worth using now!

needs work, update 12/22 Latest update is slightly faster at verse selection, but resource guide crashes the app, my stuff won't scroll so I can't access all my tags or book marks, works even worse on my Kindle, the app overall is worse than before the latest update! Use to work great on my Samsung s3 but since last update is it so slow to resp ond I don't use it anymore on my phone. Please fix!

User for over 10 years. I have been using Olive Tree for over ten years. I started using it on my Palm Pilot. The OT 5.0+/Bible Study app is the best version to date. I recently switched from an iPad to a Nexus 7 and the only place I felt like I compromised was the performance of OT. The latest update has completely restored by beloved OT app. I love this app and I would not trade it for any other. It goes way beyond reader and is truly a Bible Study app. Thank you Olive Tree for the faithful service to your dedicated customers. I look forward to the next ten years. Thanks again guys.

Is a little better but still needs work Scrolling us first thing that needs work...it slacks big time. I would also like to be able to move my thumb from left to right to go to next or previous verses that i was reading. Much improved Kudos on the scrolling improvements. I have been using this program despite the lagging scrolling issues, hoping they would be resolved. The app has always scrolled fine on my phone, but performed poorly on the tablet. This latest update appears to have resolved the issue. I also like the pop up windows for the verse selection, search, etc. Right now my only gripe is the length of time the splash screen displays. Wish it could be shorter.

Love this app But... Update: text is still very choppy. Please fix it's my favorite Bible app. Just upgraded to RAZR Maxx HD and the turning pages feels terrible. It's not smooth at all. Very choppy, it stutters, very disappointing. It's my favorite app and I'm heavily vested with purchases. I've had to use other Bible apps. Please fix and I'll give 5 stars.

Reading Plan I was a customer 7 years before working for Olive Tree. This update is great. Speed and performance has improved. My favorite update is reading plans are now available in My Stuff and syncs between my tablet and phone. The team got it out just in time for Christmas.

No S3 Jellybean 4.1 Support! Force closes! Update #2: this is the second update and still no fix to my issue. All I get is a black screen and thereafter a message that says "bible study force closed" and it closes. I'm using an S3 with the Jellybean android platform. Please fix this. Still too far behind iOS version Changes to verse chooser. No changes to highlighting. Scrolling - drastic improvement, needs more. iPad version has major feature missing on Android. Android only highlights entire bible verses. No book highlighting. iPad allows selection of text to highlight, even partial verses and ebooks. No improvements in this update. Verse chooser no longer covers the whole screen. Now, more compact, matches iPad version. In the lower pane, the verse chooser is now hidden in a new drop-down on right side.

v.5 does not work This used to be a great app. But the recent update just flatly doesn't function without crashing and eventually crashes the phone. I'm using the most current version of ice cream sandwich. I sent a message to OT asking about the problems but no response after 5 days. Suggest you avoid unless / until they fix it. Or, find an older version of bible reader and disable auto updates. Too bad.

Latest Update I hardly ever update. I figured that it might be like me computer and I should start. I guess I should have read these comments first. I can't go back to original version. This update is slow to load. Orientation is a lot slower from tilting one way or another. You scroll one section at a time from side to side instead of a smooth scroll up or down. Not sure what they were trying to do but they messed up the entire program.
