Why does it show only 8 places? The app "looks" cool. I particularly liked the News page and the simple weather widget. But it seems the developers have wilfully truncated its potential. It only shows 8 places per search, even when I expand my search to an entire city (Hyderabad) -- only 8 movie halls, 8 pubs, 8 hotels... are shown. And there is no way to see the rest of the results. I couldn't understand this weird behaviour. Further, there is no pattern in the search results-- the first result may be 10km away from my location and the next one may be 2.5km away. The search results refinement too is cumbersome and full of bugs. In the movies section, only a few theatres are listed per movie that too, one on each page... this is cumbersome. In the location saving popup, I couldn't understand the logic of giving 'look around our office' option... why on earth would someone be interested in the App developer's office location unless he/she is also living in the same place. Futher, I could never see the 'Tips' given by the app. They appear suddenly while search results are being fetched and that too only 4 to 6 words and even before I can read two of them they disappear. The purpose is always defeated.

The Best of its kind in India Indian consumers are usually a bit disappointed that there aren't too many good apps dedicated to things happening in India. Localbeat is one of those rare apps which is quite useful, especially the movie show times. Has listings for lots of movie halls, not just the multiplexes. Events such as live performances, dance, drama, fests, exhibitions etc could be incorporated to a greater extent to make the app more useful. Keep up the good work.

no info of tier 2 cities no info on tier 2 cities. UI is appreciable. relevant tabs and buttons. but crap info at times.shows news (places) of cities 1000kms away as local news.
