J4T Multitrack Recorder (v. 2.24)

The J4T is a 4-track recorder, great for recording your song ideas and demos.

     Features:

* Four tracks with individual volume-controls
* Export to wav or mp3 for desktop editing.
* Import music files (wav and mp3).
* Adjustable samplerate.
* Loop function
* Metronome
* Stereo panning
* Copy-function for quick duplication.
* Mix multiple tracks down to one to free up tracks
* 3 FX per track: Big Fuzz, Chorus, and Delay.


    Planned features:

* Track editing (cut/copy/paste)
* Adding more audio effects (eq, phaser, reverb)

If you experience bugs or issues on your phone, please let us know about it by sending an email so we can try to fix it.

  Known Issues

* If the tracks are out of sync,adjust the sync correction on the settings screen. This seems to work for most users, but there is also an option to manually sync after recording via Tracks/Sync.

* With some phones/headphones the audio is routed to the speaker when recording. There is no fix for this other than trying with different headphones.

* The app doesn't work well on the Samsung Spica, the Samsung Moment, the Motorola Triumph.

    MP3 Decoding/Encoding specifics:

For mp3-import the app uses the JLayer-MP3 Library from the JLayer Project: http://www.javazoom.net/javalayer/javalayer.html.

For mp3-export the app uses LAME from the LAME Project:

pleasantly surprised One of the very few apps I've actually purchased as I usually just do free ones. Although this app does leave a little to be desired it does get the job done. I mean what do you expect recording four tracks on a phone! I bought an adapter that lets me plug my guitar straight into the jack on my Samsung Galaxy S and the only problem I'm having is finding the "sweet spot" on the volume knob of my guitar so the track isn't blown out and distorted. Overall, I'm really impressed. This will really help in just getting ideas down that have a lo-fi quality to them. I've only had it a couple of days so I haven't really had a chance to take it on a full test ride but it seems to work for my needs which are simple recordings that are useable for sharing with bandmates and critique forums.

Updating my previous review.... mic level does not affect the recording level, so the signal is grossly over modulated making this app useless for the application (recording my live band) I purchased it for. If this could be corrected for my Epic 4G, I'd be stoked, otherwise it's buyer's remorse for me. Mic level does not affect recording volume on Epic 4G

pretty sweet Very usable 4 track. Some day Android will address latency issues with audio, for now this app offers sync options, which helps. Nice graphics, nice loop editor, 3 fx. Simple and fun. Stable on my HTC.

Good. I don't see no issues. There are occasional sync problems with mixdown and export but fixable. I've just recorded 10 tracks piece of rubbish (it's only phone after all) and that was fun. For those confused - recorder has only 4 tracks. I was using intermediate mixdowns reimported into one track. Missing on internationalisation. Only basic latin alphabet. But that's minor. Galaxy S.

Love it.....but Would like shorter tracks after loop cut ,maybe a loop count ,and it only reads about 3:26 of track in loop edit section...I want to create .10 sec. Tracks as fillers and some tracks I export are up to 10 mins. long......but this is a really good app ,thank you! Can't wait for updates.
