tinyPlayer is a smart and lightweight music and audio book / podcast player with file / folder based navigation and not through broken or missing audio metadata tags. This app can also play every format of audio streams that are supported by android where other apps have problems. It is super small but without lacking any features you would expect. Do not update I updated this today, it completely uninstalled TinyPlayer+ and made me install the free version. I can't play anything on it, and my desktop widget disappeared. E-mailed about these issues and got no response. This was a great player yesterday.

Wonderfully Inclusive! I downloaded this program because other players will only play mp3s or m4bs but not both, and a lot of my audio book files are one or the other, so this program will play both and I don't have to have two different players installed to use depending on the file format of the book I want to listen to. Awesome Great app. Those complaining, check things first. You can change list text size, you can turn on classic mode and remove 'clutter ' if you don't like interface updates - check you settings properly!

Samsung i5801, sorry but... not working in classic mode, too big song list font for last update. it's not tiny like before, the worst is sometimes this stucks my phone, i cannot do anything but reboot, the developer add some useless functions for most users but as the basic function, music playback and ui are not very well. i have to find another player and last, that is also a simply and folder-based music player called 'andLess', it's looks nice and support flac / ape!

Wish I skipped upgrade to this version (RC31)... On my phone running Android 2.2, on upgrading to this version: 1. Classic mode crashes consistently. Need to reboot phone to switch this mode off. 2. Songs list font is very large and can't find setting to adjust this. Setting the "list item size" option(s) either don't set the font size or are not being applied - tried restarting the app afterwards but no change. 3. On starting the app, sometimes get an error that it cannot read from /mnt/sdcard/somefolder, then followed by an error that it cannot read from /mnt/sdcard, then /mnt, then /. 4. Power off option sometimes doesn't close the app properly.

Browses to your MP3 folders and plays, simple!!! Got utterly sick of the standard media player (and others) using MP3 metadata to create "albums". I put all my MP3 files into folders and name everything up, but the Google music app (and others) insists on screwing everything up, reorgansing files, splitting albums into 3, creating duplicates!!!!!!!! tinyPlayer on the other hand, allows you to simply browse to a folder on the device and play the contents, no messing about, no trying to be too clever, no infuriating the hell out of me :D

Broken in Jelly Bean This was my go-to MP3 app on my old Gingerbread phone for a long time. It did exactly what I wanted - i.e., played files sensibly from its built in file browser, with easy single-track repeat and single-track stop buttons at the ready. Sadly, TinyPlayer hasn't fared very well now that I've upgraded to a Galaxy S3. It wreaks total havoc with the volume controls (often totally mutes the system multimedia volume output on startup, which then can't be "unfrozen" from muting until the app is totally manually killed from Task Mgr). Also has a bug where it suddenly reemerges and starts playing a track when the headphone jack is disconnected, even days after its last actual use / when not being used at all. I agree with others, the new startup screen is also horrible. Had to uninstall, made me very sad, but I will keep an eye out for future updates from the dev and I hope he gets this back on the horse for 4.1 and out. There are few Android apps that do file-browser-based playback and the others I've tried are not nearly as good as TP was... back when it was working.

Crashes frequently & freezes phone; buggy I am giving up on this app. Really a shame because the UI and features are the best out there. This app crashes and locks up my phone for 30 seconds each time. The "Headphone Unplug" feature is buggy. I was listening to a podcast app (not tinyplayer), and unplugged the headphones to take a phone call. Tiny Player started up playing loud music, froze up my phone, the caller got the music and hung up eventually. TinyPlayer recovered from the crash after 30 seconds.

Free Version is Useless You can't listen to music with the free version. Stick to the regular music player on your phone. Redundant to pay to listen to existing music you already paid for.
