Med Minder - Pill Reminder (v. 1.8)

Easy, full featured pill and medicine scheduler, and medication reminder app. Simple, flexible, and easy to use, with many advanced features:

Features include:
* Persistent, reliable alarms
* No battery drain
* No ads / permissions
* Highly configurable

* Prescription refill reminders

* User selectable alarm
* Backup and restore data

If you are upgrading from the free version, you can transfer your data by doing a backup in free and restore in pro.

After an update, you must launch Med Minder once to re-register your alarms.

**** IMPORTANT **** If you have a task killer, put Med Minder in its ignore list or your alarms may not work!

**** ALSO IMPORTANT ****
When you put your android phone on "mute" or "vibrate" mode, the phone ONLY mutes the ringer and notification sounds. It does NOT mute applications, such as games or media players. This means that if you have the Med Minder alarm pop-up enabled under settings, the alarm will sound even if the phone is in vibrate mode. If you need Med Minder to be muted, you can either disable the pop-up alarm under settings or manually turn your media volume down with your volume control button. However, I recommend "Mute Widget", a home screen widget that allows one-click muting of all sounds, ringer, notifications, and media.

This is the one. I take 13 different meds daily including insulin injections twice a day. Any alarm will work to tell you when to take your pills. My problem was remembering which ones I took or, if I did in fact take any. This app makes it easy to see, as long as you do take them at the time you dismiss the alert. What makes this a 5 star app for me is the developer. When I em'd him about a problem with free version at 10pm, he replied within minutes. He stayed with me till 1am and I was up and running.

Abandonware Program is effective as a basic reminder app, but that's where it stops. When setting up a medication, it asks for the number of pills on hand. It then does absolutely nothing with the count. It does not count down, it does not warn you when you're low on pills. The dev only updates when a new android release breaks the app, otherwise there are no fixes, improvements, or new features. The dev never responds to emails. There are much better apps outside there.

Effective Med Reminder App I like this app for what it does, and without negative judgement offer the following suggestions ... Allow a 0 dose/day for "as needed" drug tracking (no reminder, just track the drug as "occasional use" ... eg. A salve/ointment for an acute occurrence rash); Allow response to dosing alert to confirm that the dose was taken, or note that the dose was missed ... keep a log for future reference and physician review.

Waste of your money You are better off using the built-in alarm. After purchasing this crap I realized I didn't need some 3rd party app. The purchased app is much more useless than the free version. Wish I could give it a -10 which it deserves.

Doesn't work on ICS I upgraded to the paid app because the free version stopped alerting on ICS. The paid version doesn't alert either unless I open it then it alerts me that day. Practically useless. Please fix ASAP.

Alert stoped working I purchased this app because of the alerts. Since upgrade to ics there is a bug preventing the alerts functionality. Contacted support several times regarding this and nothing is been done about it. The whole purpose of this app is the alert, it's now useless and not useable Shame developer is not doing anything about it even when the bug has been reported. If you have similar problem and have written to the developer with no response, express yourself here maybe he will listen and fix the bug

Great app but... I love the app and its been very helpful, however it would be more convenient if the alarm volume was capable of overriding the phone settings. I take midday pills, and still have to set my phone alarm in order to get the reminder.

Great app but limited to simple schedule for your meds. This app does what it says it will do. It seems very stable. I would rate it higher if was not for features that I need to manage my wifes stage 4 metastatic breast cancer that it does not have. It would be nice to have a count down to let you know when to call in the scripts. Also we use patches that are on for 72 hours. Does not fit into the setup very well. Also, some forms of chemo are two Weeks on and one week off. there is also no good way to manage this. The app does a basic job.

A good start.. .. A good start...but could be improved. Clean and clear UI, and easy to use, but needs to be able to handle PRN (as needed) medication, and take note of missed doses. The ability to share by E-mail would also be useful, to send reports to your doctor.

Needs updating You get a reminder but you have no way of checking off a pill you have taken. I wish there were pill graphics similar to pillboxie for the iphone. Could be improved a lot before the app can be described as a complete med minder.

App Overrides existing alarms... When set together or even at offset times, the app's alarm function overrides the phone's alarms, therefore causing me to not wake up at the proper time! I've set a more gentle reminder sound for the app, versus a harsher sound for the phone's alarms. Please address this issue in a coming update?

Perfect!!! (Hint to new users: Go immediately to settings and turn on "pop up" and "repeats"... D'oh) This app is designed simply and effectively. Has performed flawlessly for a few days now. I personally have trouble remembering to take some very critical medications. This app solved that as I always have my phone nearby. Simplicity is the key to this very important app (my opinion). I can't even think of an option I would want added. Worth every penny.
