This is the free version of Checkbook, which is featured in Daniel Begun's book "Amazing Android Apps for Dummies", ISBN: 978-0470936290.

It's time to stop giving your bank free money from overdraft fees and nonsensical charges because of poor money management. Checkbook is an app you can use in place of a paper checkbook and makes it easier than you think to handle your finances. Make an impulse purchase today? That's okay, but don't forget to deduct it from your account balance. Even the online bank statements lag when posting transactions-- sometimes causing you to believe you have more money than you do. That is not to their disadvantage: it's yours!

Although we cannot promise you will never overdraft again, we can promise you that using this app properly, and keeping track of your transactions will make it next to impossible.

This version of the app allows as 2 accounts and features Google Adsense Ads. This app works with 1 phone only. If you want to share a joint account, this is not the app for you.

What happened? I used to use this app constantly and loved it. Been out of work for 6 months and had no reason to use it anymore until now. Now when i try to add to an account it force closes when i try to save. Using ZTE Warp from boost. Please fix and i still re-rate

Does what it says Love it! I use this app everyday. It has kept me from going in the red a few times. My only two suggestions would be a remove scheduled transaction option, I had to change the amount of my scheduled transaction to zero so it didn't effect my balance. I would also suggest a sync option. My husband is always asking how much we have in the bank. This option would save us both some time

Confused I have been using this app for over a year and today I decieded to close out my accounts and start a new one with a new balance. I noticed when I had no accounts I was still some how short $8.75. I figured uninstall and reinstall would fix my proplem. But now whenever I input a new amount it force closes. I also tried turning off the phone and battey removed but that hasent helped either. I am using a Samsung infuse on att with froyo. (I'm behind the times I know)

AWESOME Never write another number in a register. REALLY!!! I've been using this app for over a year. Had a dispute with my bank and this app saved me. Every time I make a monetary transaction whether deposit or withdraw, I immediately use this application. God for tracking some investments as well. You won't be disappointed.

Saved my neck. For sure will buy. This is a great app. I have been using it for about a month. I got it just before my bank merged w/ another & erased my online banking history completely. If I had not gotten this app just before, I would have had no idea how much $ I had for a whole weekend. My only suggestion would be to add some sort of bill reminder. There may be in the pay version, guess I'll find out.

Awesome App I hate writing in my checkbook and just trying to maintain my ledger is just extra stuff on my 'to do' list. This app makes it a little simpler. I'm always on my phone texting or browsing and so I'm able to keep my checkbook balanced to the tee. I highly recommend this app to anyone who hates writing and calculating in a stupid ledger.

Love it! I've used this app on dif phones & I love it! Never a complaint! My newest phone, HTC One V does not physically have a menu button. I know it's a lot to ask, but would it be possible for some support so I can have an on screen menu? I have used this app on- HTC Desire, HTC Merge, Milestone X, Milestone X2, Samsung Galaxy Showcase, Sony Xperia Play & HTC One V. All worked flawless minus the lack of support for a menu option for the One V. Not complaining, it's a relatively new phone running ICS.

Best "register" program out there I liked the idea of an app that was simple and kept a running balance of my checking account. This app does just that, and I would highly recommend. It is a very basic account app, but I liked that aspect of it. I am uninstalling,however, because my local credit union FINALLY produced an app which syncs to my account and since it instantly reflects debit transactions and even "holds" credit transactions, I can see my actual balance. But I would recommend checkbook to anyone that wants an "offline" register.

best!!!! overall easiest one to use. I hate the ones that are so complex I just like to use it so I don't overdraft my debit card. simple enough but does exactly what I need. it needs to run in the background if you have.automatic withdraws on a certain date every month like I do but u can turn that off in the settings if u need to.

Caused to become overdrawn It does not add and subtract properly and it caused me to become overdrawn within 2 weeks for the first time in my life. I have friends who have this app, and they find that it does not compute properly as well. I'm switching to another one.
