安政5年、わが国に初の外国人居留地が横浜に開設されました。
この横浜から、アイスクリーム・ビール・パン・ガス灯・水道・自転車・競馬・マッチ・写真その他数々のめずらしいものが広まっていきました。

日本の繁栄の象徴のひとつであった鉄道は世代を越えて多くの人々に愛され続けてきました。
