Klink is a utility by Faveset LLC for connecting a PC to your Android device over USB.

USAGE:

After installing and running Klink, please tap "Set up your Computer" and follow the instructions.  Klink requires the installation of a small companion program on your PC, so following the step-by-step guide is suggested.

Works well on Ubuntu 11.10 The developer responded to an emailed question in minutes with a simple correction to how I was installing the Linux client. It works like a champ. Good use of $4.99. BTW, the fix was to use "dpkg" instead of "apt"!

Worth the money PREVIOUS: This app is absolutely great when it is connected. It has saved me a ton of money since I don't have to pay for a home internet service. The only problem is that it randomly disconnects frequently and the computer program frequently gets an error and stops working. Worth the money though. UPDATE:updating the software on my computer seemed to do the trick. Sprint finally fixed our internet signal so I was finally able to try it out and I haven't had to reconnect once. Thank you for your help!!

A very nice app I love Klink it worked on all my phones (sonyericsson xperia x 8 and xperia j and ZTE kis on 2 networks. It is better with a more powerful phone of course & depends on network signal. Browsing was almost s good s with a dongle and I loaded a few files with dap over this link too. All in all not a bad result. Easy to install and use. A great app.

Great Tethering App This tethering app works great. I have used with windows xp/7 (32/64bit) and ubuntu (32 bit) and linux mint (64bit). I have also used pdanet their functionality is the same but the two benefits to using klink are that it can be used with more than just windows and it is 1/3 the price. I would recommend this app.

Klink (Red Edition) I have used just about every usb tethering app. This is by far the 2nd best one. However for me it randomly disconnects, i don't know why. PDA does not do this, also after doing some speed and latency tests Klink is drastically slower with a higher average latency ( 50-100). If you can't get PDA to work....

Application of the year I tried every wifi and tethering application out their, this is THE ONLY app that work flawlessly now I can be free from coffee houses and be able to chat on Skype with my spouse overseas at any time I want or need and don't have to pay for expensive IP provider. Works great - the only one I could get to run Samsung Skyrocket, rooted but with original (2.3.5) ROM. Tried the wireless options: Barnacle, Wireless Tethering for Root Users, and Open Garden. None could access the wireless (I think they might work with a replacement ROM, but I didn't want to go there). Couldn't get the BlueTooth options on these working because Bluetooth drivers for my laptop (Lenovo X200S) don't recognize the phone. Tried PDANET, and couldn't get it working either, driver problems. Finally stumbled on Klink. What really stands out is the excellent attention to drivers and the excellent documentation (first to walk me through going to system.msc and examining the contents there -- which fixed my driver issue). RDP (Terminal Services) and Outlook connect fine to the office. Cell speeds about 5mb down (3G and 3 bars - good job). Good information on his website and Google Group. Good attention to avoiding having carrier clamp down on you for tethering (in fact, it's a blessing in disguise the wireless options didn't work -- a lot of stories of tethering users being charged right now). Very happy.

After A Bit of Tinkering, Klink is Flawless After hours of unsuccessful attempts to get PdaNet to run, I bought Klink. After Klink didn't work, I said to myself "oh sh*t, here we go again." Klink's Tech Support suggested that I uninstall the demo version of the program because it may not be compatible with the paid-version. I followed their advice. The program worked perfectly after I did that. I'm also pleased that I received such a fast response from Klink's Tech Support dept. This is in contrast to Pda Net's slow-as-molasses response-time. Great program!!

It works. Fast! One special requirement for SGS2. (Used on SGH-T989 + 2.3.5, Mac + OS X 10.6.) Instructions good; installation easy; setup, use easy. Good with slow cable via WiFi. Fast with T-Mobile 4G. If unusable below 3G, I'll be unhappy, but I haven't yet tried it. So far it's worth the price. UPDATE: The instructions miss one SGS2 requirement: the Android setting "Location and Security>Disable USB debugging mode" must be UN-checked, or Klink loses its connection when the screen times out, even if the screen doesn't lock. (Responsive, friendly dev!)

Able to use carrier's data! It's the only thing missing from EasyTether and PDANet. I've paid and used both, liked ET more but after testing the network and monitoring, it is about 30-40% faster. It helps a lot watching YouTube and Netflix on the PC. This is on LG Optimus S that was recently rooted. For the price it's well worth it! I'll have to update the review as far as battery consumption is concerned; sometime with ET using the data heavily can result in losing juice even with it connected to the USB directly.
