This App needs the following permissions to work:
* Storage - modify/delete SD card contents (android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): To create the backup

file on the SD card.
* Your messages - read and write SMS
(android.permission.READ_SMS, android.permission.WRITE_SMS): Needed to read SMS during backups and write them

during restore.
* Your personal information - read contact data (android.permission.READ_CONTACTS): To display and store the

contact names in the backup file.
* Network communication - full Internet access (android.permission.INTERNET): For bug report

4300 messages backed up in 3 mins I started at 00:00, and finished backing up at 00:03. The application's slick, the UI is pretty responsive and fast. It saves the messages to a db file with proper timestamps; lets you manage (view/restore/delete/export to html) the saved text messages. Export to html is pretty cool too (can export single message or the entire set of messages) - shows you a nice table with all relevant data nicely laid out. Loving this so far... still exploring - haven't tried restore yet.

Works like a charm .... Really simple and to the point app.I switched from S2 to S3 and I didn`t wanna loose all my SMS so i looked around and found this app. All my SMS are now transferred from my old S2 into my new S3. First you have to install the app onto both phones then create a backup file of your SMS from the old phone onto the external SD card. Then remove the SD card and insert it into the new phone. Now you go into "My Files" and you`ll have to move the backed up files (SMSbackup) from the SD card onto the phone in the same folder (SMSbackup). Then open the SMS backup & restore app, tap restore and you are good to go !!! The only thing is that it doesn`t bring over the pic (MMS) within the SMS - text only.

Not that appreciable! I haven't started using this app. Just installed; but contemplating uninstall. Doesn't offer option to backup in SD Card. Nor in dropbox or any cloud space. Without this, a backup is merely no backup, in case of a crashed, bricked or lost mobile. Correct me, if it does. Thanks.

Good for common user or developer. it has an archive/incremental backup, the best feature i'm looking for. still, it has reguler snapshot backup. it has html export feature. for developer, it use SQLite db, so you can access n use it however you want.
