[2012-01-09] Greg: Handy listings, but banner ads and permissions First, I think it's great that NAMM is providing an app. The intention and concept is good. The searchable listings like exhibitor map and events are are handy enough. However: 1. The screen shots here on the Market don't show you that there will distracting banner ads flashing at the top of the screen. (If NAMM is short on funds and needs to sell ads to pay for this app, understood, but please tell us up-front.) 2. The permissions are overkill. I don't want to give it permission to read/write my Contacts, Calendar, phone call data, and more. |
