経済評論家・経営評論家、信越化学工業顧問、日本CFO(最高経理・財務責任者)協会最高顧問。 東京大学農学部農業経済学科卒業。信越化学工業入社、以来38年間、経理・財務部門の実務一筋。常務取締役(経理・財務、法務、資材関係担当)、公認会計士試験(筆記・口述)試験委員、金融監督庁(現金融庁)顧問(専門分野「企業会計」)、新潟大学経済学部、非常勤講師、大東文化大学経営学部大学院、非常勤講師、一橋大学国際戦略研究科大学院、非常勤講師、早稲田大学大学院ファイナンス研究科、非常勤講師、文京学院大学経営学研究科、教授、早稲田大学大学院商学研究科、客員教授を歴任。平成7年度納税表彰(麹町税務署長表彰)。

著書は、『「利益力世界一」をつくったM&A』『ビジネス・ゼミナール 会社「経理・財務」入門』(日本経済新聞出版社)、『できる社長の会計力』(税務経理協会)ほか。本書は101冊目の著作。
