Compact Words is a set of 6 word-based games and puzzles from the Compact Fun range. Brief details of each component are given below.

Please note that the individual games are also available as individual apps: free ad-supported apps, and, in some cases, paid-for ad-free apps.  So, you can try them first.

Original: 1-4 players (pastime for 1)
-------------------------------------

Linkword Snap
An original game in which the players (up to 4) try to find a word that links given definitions or conditions. These may be simple, such as finding a word that matches 'Name of an actor or actress' and 'A 9-letter word', where Nicholson would be acceptable, or harder such as 'Name of a President' and 'Name of a make or model of car', where Ford or Lincoln would be acceptable.

Pentad
An original simple but frustrating letter and word game (up to 4 players) - try to make words from 25 letters on a 5x5 grid. There are three phases: Positioning, in which you place the letters on the grid; Swapping, in which you can swap two pairs; and Scoring, in which you select the words formed (2-5 letters), with bonuses for 5-letter words and for including the letter on the central square.  If you like Scrabble, we think you'll like Pentad.

Hangman
A sophisticated version of the hangman puzzle or game normally played with pencil and paper, where one player tries to guess the letters of a hidden word. This version may be played by one player trying to guess a word specified by the system (from a dictionary of over 6500 words), or by two players where one of them specifies the word for the other to find.

WordSearch+
Search for the given words that are hidden in the letter grid - plus some that aren't given, but whose length you are told.

Classic: 1+players (pastime for 1)

Beguile
A game like Boggle where you try to beat the countdown to identify words in a 4x4 or 5x5 grid formed by adjacent letters.  Includes a Fix and Show feature where a known long word is inserted into the grid for you to find.

Letters game
Beat the countdown to make the longest word from 9 letters, where you select the next one as either a vowel or a consonant.   Includes a Push and Show feature where a known long word is pushed to you - can you get all the letters and can you identify the word?

Original puzzles

Numberskull
An original numerical puzzle in which 6 equations of the form A ? B ? C = D (where A to D are numbers and ? are operators) are laid out in a grid, three horizontally and three vertically, with the results shown but the 9 numbers representing A, B and C in the equations given but not positioned. The objective is to position these, together with the operators, to produce 6 correct equations.

Tricolor
An original puzzle based on a collapsing blocks game. Click on a block to remove all connected blocks of the same colour, and try to achieve just three blocks of different colours in the middle at the end.

Rube Cube
Our version of Rubik's great cube puzzle. Includes tools to aid solving and a detailed approach and Wolstenholme notation to help you solve it and remember the solution.

Peg Solitaire
The well-known pegs-in-a-board puzzle. You can start not only with the full 32 pegs, but also with 6, 8, 10 or 12 pegs - but always with the aim of ending up with a solitary peg in the middle.  Has a Solve feature that will show you how to solve any puzzle presented to you by the system.  Includes a solution and Wolstenholme notation to help you remember the solution.

Move tiles to recreate the original 1-15 tile pattern.

PS: This app need device manager permission for use. The first time start the app, device manager will ask for permission. And you also need to revoke the permission before uninstall, if you want uninstall it.

Uninstall: Go to SETTINGS->Location and Security-> Device Administrator and deselect the "quicklock" to uninstall.

This database contains 2000 Songs and artists from the year 2000 to the present. It is similar to hangman. Fill in the letters to complete the song title. The artists names are spelled out as a clue.

The clock starts with 10 seconds with an
additional second per blank letter.
The clock starts when you touch the first key
Short titles get less time than long ones.
There are enough titles to keep you busy!
